How Special Orders Work
What is a Special Order?
A Special Order is any kit, part, or supply not currently on our shelves at MRS Hobby — but available through one of our trusted distributors. Instead of you waiting for us to restock or hunting it down online, we order it for you and have it shipped to our shop.
How long does it take?
Most special orders arrive at our shop within 5 to 10 business days, though lead times can vary by distributor. Rare, low-stock, or international items may take longer. We will do our best to get your order to you as soon as possible and will let you know if your item is going to take longer than the usual window.
How do I receive my order?
You choose at checkout:
- In-store pickup (free) — we'll email you when it's ready
- Ship to me — our standard shipping rates apply, we re-ship to your address
What if my item is out of stock at the distributor?
Use the "Notify me when in stock" button on the product page. We'll email you the moment our distributor restocks. (Standard wait when in stock again: 5–10 business days from re-stock.)
Can I combine a Special Order with in-stock items from MRS Hobby?
Right now no — Special Orders and our main store catalog are separate. We're working on combining carts so you can order both in one checkout. Stay tuned.
Returns
Special Orders follow the same return policy as our main store. Please contact us with any return requests.
